- American Butt Weld Straight Tee
We have been manufacturing and selling pipe fittings for more than 20 years, selling low prices and producing high quality pipe fittings are our obvious advantages, welcome to inquire.
The American Butt Weld Reducing Tee is a core component in pipework systems for connecting branches of different pipe diameters with up to 50 per cent difference in size between main and branch (e.g. NPS 8 x 8 x 4).
American Butt Weld Reducing Tee
- The main (Run) and branch (Branch) diameters are different (e.g., NPS 8 x 6 x 8, indicating an 8-inch main and a 6-inch branch).
- Butt Weld connections are used to ensure that the strength of the weld is consistent with the body of the pipe, reducing turbulence and pressure drop.
- Maximum 50% reduction allowed, additional support structure required for >50% reducer ratio (anti-vibration fatigue).
- Avoid carbon steel tees for H₂S environments (NACE MR0175 certification required)
Common Materials
Something to keep in mind:
Carbide decomposition (carbon steel): >425°C, the need for internal wall cladding of nickel-based alloys.
Stainless steel: 600 ~ 900 ° C long-term service after the impact function decline, need to control the Cr / Mo content.
Duplex steel: H₂ partial pressure > 0.1bar need to use ultra-low carbon variant (C ≤ 0.02%).
| Material | Temperature Range | Suitable Media | 2025 Enhancements |

| 316L (Stainless Steel) | -196°C ~ 800°C | Corrosive Fluids, High-Temp Chemicals | Optimized σ-phase embrittlement threshold model |
| UNS N06625 (Nickel Alloy) | -253°C ~ 1095°C | Supercritical CO₂, Molten Salts | AI-driven grain boundary oxidation lifetime prediction |
| Duplex 2205 (Duplex Steel) | -50°C ~ 300°C | Seawater, Acidic Oil & Gas | 30% improvement in chloride SCC resistance |
