We have been manufacturing and selling pipe fittings for more than 20 years, selling low prices and producing high quality pipe fittings are our obvious advantages, welcome to inquire.
American lap joint short section end is a kind of butt-welding pipe fittings used with loose set flange (Lap Joint Flange). Its flange ring can rotate freely to realize the alignment of the bolt holes, and it is fixed at the end of the pipe by welding. It is commonly used in piping systems that require frequent disassembly or have corrosive media.
American Lap Joint Stub End
- Conformity: Long flange short sections need to meet ASME B16.9 for high pressure, high temperature systems and MSS SP-43 for short sections (low pressure, ambient temperature scenarios).
- Removal of contaminants: Thoroughly remove oxides and oil from pipe and flange end bevels prior to welding to avoid undercutting or porosity defects.
- Flanges: Flange rings should be kept consistently parallel to the flanged ends, bolts should be tightened uniformly against the angle, and torque should be controlled within ASME B16.5 (e.g., CLASS 150 flanges torque is 40 to 70 Nm).
- Verification of coefficient of thermal expansion and low-temperature toughness: The coefficient of thermal expansion and low-temperature toughness of the material should be verified under high-temperature (≥200℃) or low-temperature (≤-20℃) environments to avoid deformation or brittle cracking.
