Fire Fighting Pipe is commonly used in a building’s fire protection system, and it is responsible for the fire protection of the entire building. Fire Fighting Pipe is used as a connection for sprinkler systems or waterproofing tapes, etc., to ensure that sufficient water is provided in the event of a fire. Fire fighting pipes are resistant to high temperature, corrosion and pressure. And fire piping needs to undergo tests such as hydrotesting to verify the piping’s eligibility.
Fire Fighting Pipe Supply Range
- Supply Range of Diameters: From 1 inch (25mm) to 12 inches (300mm) or larger.
- Range of Thickness: Typically from Schedule 40 to Schedule 80, or thicker.
- Ends Type: Includes plain ends (for welding), threaded ends (for screw connections), and flanged ends.
- Test: hydrostatic tests, impact tests, and dimensional checks.
- Certificates: UL, FM, and ISO 9001 quality certification.
- Surface: Galvanized or coated with epoxy for enhanced corrosion resistance.
- Range of Length: 6 meters to 12 meters, with custom lengths available upon request.
- Production Process: Hot rolling, cold drawing, or seamless production.
- Steel Grades: ASTM A53, A106, or A795.
Fire Fighting Pipe Production Process
- Seamless Process:
The seamless process perforates and stretches a steel billet to form a seamless hollow tube. This process is ideally suited for the production of high-strength fire protection tubes, where defective welds can be avoided. It is often used in applications requiring high pressure. - Hot Rolling Process:
In the hot rolling process, the billet is heated and melted, then processed through rolls to the desired shape and size. It is usually used to produce fire protection pipes with larger diameters and thicker walls. The advantage of hot rolling is that it ensures uniform wall thickness and improves the mechanical properties of the steel. - Cold Drawing Process:
The cold drawing process involves pulling a steel pipe through a mold at room temperature to reduce its diameter and wall thickness to a desired size. It has the advantage of improving surface smoothness, dimensional accuracy and strength.
