Fire Pipe Standards

Fire Pipe Standards

Fire Fighting Standards (FFS) is a technical framework for fire prevention, fire protection and emergency response, covering the following core functions: fire protection design of buildings, fire-fighting equipment specification, fire risk assessment, and mutual recognition of international standards. etc. Through systematic technical constraints, these standards reduce the probability of fire and increase the success rate of emergency response, and are the core basis for safeguarding life and property.

Core Standard System for Fire Fighting Pipe

1. ASTM standard system (USA)

ASTM A135: Dedicated to resistance welded steel pipe, requiring yield strength ≥30ksi, made of carbon steel, for low pressure fire protection water supply system.

ASTM A53: Covering seamless and welded steel pipe with higher compressive strength, used for fire mains and high pressure scenarios.

Characteristics: in inches/pounds, stringent testing standards, suitable for extreme environments such as petrochemical and ultra-high-rise buildings.

2. DIN Standard System (Germany)

DIN 2440: Standardized galvanized welded steel tubes with ±10% wall thickness tolerance, emphasizing stability of mechanical properties, suitable for connecting pipes for precision fire-fighting equipment.

DIN 1629: standardized seamless steel pipe, pressure resistance level up to 4.0MPa, suitable for chemical plants, nuclear power plants and other high-risk scenarios.

Characteristics: metric unit dominated, focusing on dimensional accuracy and corrosion resistance, widely used in European automobile manufacturing, mechanical engineering field.

3. GB Standard System (China)

GB 50268 (mandatory standard): Provides for the acceptance process of fire protection pipeline construction, and makes it clear that the pressure test needs to be 1.5 times the working pressure to guarantee the reliability of the system.

GB/T 3091 (recommended standard): standardize the parameters of galvanized welded steel pipe, applicable to ordinary building fire branch pipe, the cost is 30% lower than ASTM.

Characteristics: Clearly categorized, taking into account the versatility and economy, suitable for residential, commercial complexes and other scenes.

Fire Pipe Process

Core Values of Fire Duct Standards

Enhanced Fire Resistance Performance

It is mandatory for piping materials to meet specific fire resistance limits to ensure the structural integrity of the piping in the early stage of fire and to prevent the fire from spreading. The fireproof casing adopts the composite structure of alkali-free glass fiber and silicone rubber, with instantaneous temperature resistance up to 1650°C, forming a dense carbonized layer to block oxygen and reducing smoke density by 50%.

System Reliability Guarantee

Strictly stipulated pressure test standards to avoid interruption of water supply due to pipe rupture. The fireproof package of the smoke exhaust pipe requires the whole sealing treatment, and the seams are filled with fireproof sealant to prevent the leakage of high-temperature smoke.

Reduction of whole life cycle cost

Standardized design reduces redundant material selection, reducing material waste by 20%-30%. Modularized fire protection sleeve buckle design increases maintenance efficiency by 70%, especially suitable for complex scenarios such as underground pipeline corridors.

Construction Efficiency Improvement

Unified installation specification reduces construction errors and shortens the construction period by 15%-20%. Standardized material certification simplifies the procurement process and reduces supply chain costs.
