Fire Stand Pipe is the core vertical piping system of the building fire protection system, usually made of steel pipe or pressure-resistant composite material, running through all floors of the building, providing a channel for the rapid delivery of water or foam extinguishing media in case of fire. Its design should comply with GB 50974, NFPA 14 and other international codes, widely used in high-rise buildings, underground spaces, industrial plants and large complexes, is to ensure that the evacuation of people and fire fighting key infrastructure.

Fire Stand Pipe Supply Range

Standard pipe diameter: DN65 (2.5 inches), DN80 (3 inches), DN100 (4 inches), DN150 (6 inches)

Flow requirements: Single spigot minimum flow 1000 L/min (GB 50974), high-rise buildings need to be superimposed on the flow of multiple spigots.

Working pressure: Usually 1.0~1.6 MPa, ultra-high-rise buildings need to be pressurized in sections (e.g. 1.6 MPa+2.5 MPa).

Galvanized steel pipe: Wall thickness ≥ 3.0 mm (DN65), galvanized layer ≥ 80 μm (GB/T 3091).

Standard: GB 50974 / NFPS 14/ EN 671

Connection: Threaded connection: small-diameter pipe (DN≤80), easy to install but lower pressure bearing.
Flange connection: high-pressure or large-caliber pipeline (DN ≥ 100), need to add sealing gasket.
Grooved connection: excellent seismic performance, suitable for earthquake zone construction (such as clamp joints).

Fire Stand Pipe Strengths and Core Values

High adaptability

It can be matched with fire hydrant, sprinkler system and foam mixing device to meet the diversified needs of ordinary buildings, industrial plants and underground spaces.

Rapid Response Capability

Rapid water/foam delivery to all floors through vertical piping system greatly shortens the fire-fighting preparation time.

Wet system can realize instantaneous water spraying, and dry system controls water injection time ≤ 5 minutes through quick exhaust valve.

Reliability and Stability

Adopting high-strength materials and corrosion-resistant technology, it is suitable for high temperature, humidity and corrosive environment.

Supports segmented pressurization design (e.g., 1.6MPa in the low zone and 2.5MPa in the high zone for ultra-high-rise buildings) to ensure stable water pressure.

Fire Stand Pipe Application Scenario

Environment suitability

Low-temperature environment: prioritize the use of dry systems, pipeline filled with nitrogen/compressed air, to avoid freezing; if the wet system needs to be installed with electric heat tracing.

Corrosive environment: use 316L stainless steel pipe, wall thickness ≥ 2.5 mm.

Installation and maintenance requirements

Pipe diameter and flow matching: high-rise buildings need to be stacked according to the floor flow (such as DN100 riser support 2 bolts open at the same time).

Seismic design: bracket spacing ≤ 6 meters, earthquake zones need to be installed with flexible joints or dampers.

Regular testing: quarterly inspection of valve sealing, annual hydrostatic test at 1.5 times the working pressure.
