Grooved Eccentric Reducer is a fitting used to connect two pipes of different diameters with offset centers (flat bottom or flat top construction). Grooved eccentric reducers are often used in application scenarios such as HVAC, wastewater treatment and industrial piping. Its use effectively prevents air pockets in pump suction lines and ensures smooth drainage in horizontal systems.
Grooved Eccentric Reducer
- The material is in most cases ductile iron or carbon steel, which, in combination with anti-corrosion surface treatment (e.g. spraying or plating), is well suited for use in high-pressure, corrosive media environments.
- Pipe size change is realized through eccentric structure, avoiding the problem of gas accumulation that may be caused by concentric reducer, suitable for the scenario that needs to eliminate gas or sediment (e.g., chemical and wastewater treatment pipeline).
- Absorption of pipe displacement due to thermal expansion and contraction or vibration reduces the risk of stress concentrations and extends the service life of the pipe.
- The groove joints are equipped with rubber seals, which, combined with the multi-layer sealing design, effectively prevent media leakage.
- For strongly vibrating environments, additional support for pipe reinforcement is required to ensure that the groove connection will not loosen. In acidic or high salt environments, the surface coating of the pipe fittings should be periodically checked for integrity, re-inspected, re-coated or replaced.
