Grooved Fire Hydrant Tee this connection is a specialized connection for fire protection piping systems. Grooved Fire Hydrant Tee is designed with a grooved mechanical interface that allows for quick branching of the hydrant to the water supply line to support high pressure water flow. Core features include emergency diversion control, resistance to high pressure impacts (e.g., fire pump starting pressure), and resistance to rust and corrosion (typically plastic coated carbon steel or galvanized). Meets rapid response and safety standards for fire protection systems (e.g. NFPA, GB 50974).
Grooved Fire Hydrant Tee
- No soldering or heat fusing is required, increasing installation efficiency by more than 50 percent, making it ideal for emergency deployment of fire protection systems.
- Standardized trench design (e.g., width 28~50mm, depth 1.8~3.0mm) is quickly matched with pipe clamps to simplify the construction process.
- Carbon steel coated (epoxy resin ≥250μm) or galvanized (≥80μm), significantly improving rust resistance, suitable for wet, corrosive environments.
- Tolerance of groove processing should be controlled (±1.0mm) and burrs should be removed to avoid sealing failure; 5~10mm thermal expansion and contraction allowance should be reserved during installation.
- Low temperature environment (-20℃ or below) need to use plastic coated or low-temperature rubber gaskets to prevent embrittlement of sealing materials.
- Pass 4 times the working pressure burst test (e.g. 600 LBS fittings need to pass 2400 LBS verification) to ensure the safe operation of the fire protection system.
Reducing Tee Dimensions
| Main DN × Branch DN | Outer Diameter (OD, in) | Total Length (L, in) | Pressure Rating (psi) |
| DN100 (4″) × DN65 (2.5″) | 4.25″ × 3.0″ | 7.05″ | 363 psi (2.5 MPa) |
| DN150 (6″) × DN100 (4″) | 6.26″ × 4.25″ | 9.53″ | 363 psi |
| DN200 (8″) × DN150 (6″) | 8.63″ × 6.50″ | 9.65″ | 363 psi |
