We have been manufacturing and selling pipe fittings for more than 20 years, selling low prices and producing high quality pipe fittings are our obvious advantages, welcome to inquire.

American Socket Weld Cap is a socket weld cap used to seal pipe ends or branch connections for NPS 1/8″~4″ small diameter high pressure piping systems in accordance with ASME B16.11. Standard.

  1.  To ensure the quality of the weld, the fillet weld must undergo a strict magnetic particle test (MT) or penetrant test (PT) inspection procedure to confirm that there are no cracks and unfused defects.
  2.  End closure or temporary opening protection of petrochemical pipeline systems, isolation or blocking of spare connections in instrument pipelines.
  3.  The pressure classification of fillet welds is 3000LB (corresponding to wall thickness SCH80), 6000LB (SCH160) and 9000LB (XXS). When selecting the specific wall thickness, ASME B16.11 and ANSI B36.10M standards should be referred to. In the design of the pipeline, attention should be paid to areas with large internal geometric changes, which are prone to turbulence. If the pipeline contains granular media, it is not recommended to use in such areas.
  4. In order to avoid cracking of the weld due to thermal stress, it is necessary to ensure that a 1.6mm expansion gap is left during welding, and the welding process should comply with AWS D1.1 and other relevant specifications.
