American Socket Weld Eccentric Reducer belongs to the American standard socket weld eccentric reducer, used to connect two different diameters of the pipe, and the two ends of the center line offset (one end of the outer wall alignment), suitable for the need to avoid the accumulation of liquids or to adjust the pipeline elevation of the scene.
American Socket Weld Eccentric Reducer
- Reduces the diameter of high-pressure, small-diameter (NPS ≤ 2 inches) piping systems while maintaining a consistent horizontal height at the bottom or top of the pipe for support or drainage.
- Eccentric construction: flush at one end of the outer wall, avoiding the problem of fluid buildup that can result from concentric reducers.
- Socket Weld Design: The pipe is inserted into the fitting and secured with a fillet weld, eliminating the need for a pre-fabricated bevel, and the weld is located on the outer wall of the socket.
- Pressure rating: 3000LB (SCH80), 6000LB (SCH160), 9000LB (XXS), in accordance with ASME B16.11 and MSS SP-83 standards.
- Inspection: Fillet welds are subject to Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) or Penetration Testing (PT) to ensure that they are free of cracks.
- Handling: The socket should be thoroughly cleaned before welding to avoid welding slag residue. An expansion gap of 1.6mm should be left before welding to prevent cracking of the weld due to thermal stress.
- Application Scenario: Suitable for corrosive media (such as chemical, petroleum) and high-pressure fluid transportation, the sealing is better than threaded connection.
