American socket weld half-pipe fittings are mainly used for quick sealing connection of small diameter pipes (usually NPS≤2). It is a kind of pipe fittings with socket weld at one end and threaded or welded connection at the other end.

American Socket Weld Half-Coupling

  1. Conforms to ANSI B16.11 and supports Class 3000/6000/9000 pressure ratings for high pressure and high temperature piping systems.
  2. Designed for small diameter pipelines (NPS ≤ 2), socket weld end with Fillet Weld for high strength sealing and reduced risk of leakage.
  3. Low-temperature alloy steel (ASTM A350 LF2) withstands temperatures up to -46°C, preventing brittle failure at low temperatures.
  4. Class 3000 corresponds to SCH80 wall thickness (≤20 MPa), Class 6000 corresponds to SCH160 wall thickness (≤35 MPa), and Class 9000 corresponds to XXS Wall thickness (≥52 MPa).
  5. The welding process should control the interlayer temperature (e.g. stainless steel ≤150°C), and penetration testing (PT/MT) is recommended after welding to ensure the integrity of the seal.
  6. Allow 1.6mm thermal expansion gap at the weld end of the insert to avoid cracking of the weld due to thermal stress.
