The American Socket Weld X Threaded Coupling is a socket weld and threaded combination pipe fitting suitable for transitioning between different connection methods in high-pressure piping systems. This pipe fitting complies with the ASME B16.11 standard and is suitable for use in piping systems with pressures ranging from 3000LB to 9000LB. Its hybrid connection method provides greater resilience and a wider range of applications.

American Socket Weld X Threaded Coupling Application

1. Pipe Connections
In a piping system, when both socket weld pipes and threaded pipes are present, a transition fitting can be used to connect the pipes. Generally, the high-pressure end is connected using a socket weld, while the end requiring frequent maintenance is connected using a threaded connection.

2. Connecting Low-Pressure and High-Pressure Mixed Piping Systems
Socket weld ends (3,000–9,000 lb pressure rating) are used for high-pressure systems, while threaded ends (2,000–6,000 lb) are used for low-pressure branches, enabling a pressure gradient transition.

3. Sealing Scenarios
Socket weld fittings offer superior sealing performance, preventing leaks of flammable and toxic substances; threaded end sealing can be achieved using sealant to meet system requirements.
