The American Threaded Concentric Reducer is a standard pipe fitting that achieves pipe diameter reduction through threaded connections. Its concentric structure ensures smooth fluid transition and helps reduce turbulence and pressure drop. Manufactured using forging or casting processes, the fitting has the same pressure-bearing capacity as the main pipe, making it suitable for pipeline system renovations and branch connections in industries such as petroleum, chemicals, and power. The threaded interface facilitates installation and disassembly, making it particularly suitable for pipeline systems requiring regular maintenance. However, sealing compound or PTFE tape must be used to ensure airtightness.

American Threaded Concentric Reducer Tolerance Requirements

1. Outer Diameter Tolerance

Seamless pipe fittings are generally NPS 1/2“-24”, with an outer diameter tolerance of ±0.8%, and the maximum deviation does not exceed ±1.6mm; welded pipe fittings are NPS 24“-80”, with an outer diameter tolerance of ±1.25%.

2. Wall Thickness Tolerances

For Sch5s to Sch10s, the allowable tolerance range is ±12.5%, with the minimum wall thickness not exceeding 87.5% of the nominal value; for Sch40 to Sch160, stricter tolerance requirements apply, necessitating graded control and UT thickness measurement.

3. Thread tolerance

The standard taper ratio is 1:16, with an allowable taper deviation range of -1/16 inch/foot to +1/8 inch/foot (approximately -0.5% to +1%).
