The American Threaded Coupling is a standardized pipe fitting that uses tapered pipe threads (NPT) for pipe connections. Its pressure-bearing capacity is directly related to its wall thickness. The Class 6000 grade NPS 2″ fitting has a wall thickness of 11.13 mm (SCH160). This fitting is manufactured using a forging process. The duplex stainless steel version is resistant to H₂S corrosion environments. The threaded ends allow for ±5° installation deviation. However, it is important to note that pure threaded connections are not recommended for DN > 50 mm. This fitting is widely used in industries such as petroleum and chemicals.

American Threaded Coupling Sealing Performance Test Method- 2025
Sealing Performance Test Method
Helium Mass Spectrometry Leak Detection Standard
Vacuum Blowing Method: Detection limit ≤ 1×10⁻⁹ Pa·m³/s (ASME SEC V Standard)
Pressure Decay Method: Test pressure is 1.5 times the working pressure, held for 15 minutes
Threaded Seal Verification
NPT Threads: Requires 4.5 turns of PTFE sealing tape, tightening torque referenced from ASME B1.20.1
Acceptance Criteria: Class 6000 allows a leakage rate < 0.01 bubbles/minute
