The American Threaded Half-Coupling is a transition fitting used to connect pipes via a single-end tapered pipe thread (NPT) connection, with the non-threaded end typically connected via butt welding or socket welding. This fitting is suitable for pipeline systems with DN ≤ 100 mm. The Class 6000 NPS 2″ version has a wall thickness of up to 11.13 mm (SCH160). The duplex steel material can withstand H₂S acidic environments and is primarily used in applications such as instrumentation pressure lines and fire protection branch pipes that require a combination of threaded and welded connections.
